The deservedly famous Costa del Sol is THE place to go in Spain for many holiday golfers. It’s got plenty of golf courses, a great choice of resorts and destinations and the scenery and welcome are as good as you’ll find anywhere.
In addition to the Costa del Sol, southern Spain also boasts the Costa de la Luz in the south-west near the coast and border of Portugal as well as the “royal” (Real) Andalusian inland cities of Seville and Granada with their fantastic architecture and good golf courses.
Wherever you choose to go, the weather is warm and sunny pretty much throughout the year, the prices are reasonable (particularly for accommodation and eating out) and it’s easy to get to.
For the Costa del Sol, our choice is quite small but informed with visits and games at every hotel and golf course featured. We concentrate most in and around the upmarket and beautiful Sotogrande area about an hour west of Malaga Airport and also the much-loved hotels of La Cala and Guadalmina in between Sotogrande and the airport.
With an attractive mix of four- and five-star hotels, holiday golf courses and some of the finest clubs in Europe, you’re in for a treat.Heading further west is Sherry country with the beautiful coastline and white-washed towns of the Costa de la Luz. For a value-packed golf holiday in the warmth of Spain, this region is hard to beat. Fly into Jerez and you can choose from All-Inclusive golf resorts or smaller hotels in the centre of town from where you can explore the history and the many restaurants and bars.
Inland, Seville and Granada are historic and magnificent cities with their own airports, monuments and museums galore, three golf courses and traditional and very pretty town-centre hotels. They’re ideal for taking in some culture, some golf and a real flavour of the south of Spain.
