Morocco is ready and waiting for you and you’ll go back time after time because It ticks so many boxes for the discerning golfer. There are four main golfing destinations in Morocco.
The liveliest and most comprehensive destination is Marrakech where you have no fewer than six fine courses (and five more besides) and a wealth of hotels, attractions and restaurants to savour. Where else can you play golf in shorts surrounded by the desert with snow-capped mountains on the horizon and one of the world’s most fascinating cities ready for you after your afternoon siesta by your pool? It’s perfect as an intelligent (and warmer) alternative to more traditional sunshine golf destinations. It’s kinder on your wallet too.
The second, in terms of quantity of golf, is Agadir which is more of a golf-resort destination with holidays likely to include golf, half-board or All-Inclusive at your hotel and perhaps the occasional wander into the town or around the smart marina. There are four golf courses to please you with the best being the Kyle Phillips-designed Tazegzout which would rate highly wherever you look.
A very tranquil holiday is to be had at Essaouira, the UNESCO-rated port town. The Medina, port and views are entrancing and we’ve got five-star hotels in the heart of the old town and a beautiful Sofitel on the 36-hole Gary Player-designed Mogador Golf Club.
One of the leading lights of golf in Morocco is Mazagan Golf Resort – with 500 bedrooms and more facilities than you could use in a month-long holiday. Mazagan is suited to any age and need and the golf course is a gem. An All-Inclusive resort, you can golf to your heart’s content, have an excellent lunch in the clubhouse and you then have a choice of three restaurants in the evening. With casino, nightclub, immense pool and Altantic beach location you can take it easy or let it roll!
