Course overview

Atalaya owes much of its charm and beauty to the fact that it was created back in 1968.  It was a slower pace of life in those days, when the design of a golf course was the priority.  And over those 40 or so years, the course has matured into a beautiful parkland with pockets of richly-coloured beds of flowers.  All this with the Sierra Blanca backdrop and fairways lined with eucalyptus trees, cactus and palms. The fact that it is a members’ club means that there’s a convivial atmosphere around the clubhouse where members and green-fee guests alike are made welcome on the terrace or in the bar.

The New Course opened just over 20 years ago and, at about 5600 Yards and a Par of 71, is a no-nonsense, natural layout offering glorious coastline views.  Don’t be fooled too much by the lack of distance though, the course does have some bit and the greens are large so clubbing is very important.
