Barceló Montecastillo Golf Resort sits just outside Jerez de la Frontera in the heart of Andalusia — a five-star resort built around a Jack Nicklaus championship course that has hosted prestigious professional tournaments and is widely regarded as one of the finest layouts in Spain. Golf packages start from £699 per person including seven nights bed and breakfast and five rounds with practice balls.

There are several types of bedroom categories and board – my favourite is the Golf View Terrace bedroom and All Inclusive. This gives me a little more space and the generous attraction of dining and drinks included.

The Resort…
Set within beautiful landscaped grounds and surrounded by rolling Andalusian countryside, the resort offers spacious guest rooms, suites and villas designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing retreat after a day on the fairways. Its location, just a short drive from Jerez Airport, makes it an easily accessible destination for both short golf breaks and longer stays.
Beyond the golf course, guests can unwind in the impressive spa, which includes a hydrotherapy circuit, sauna, Turkish bath and a range of wellness treatments. There are also outdoor swimming pools, fitness facilities and excellent dining options serving both traditional Andalusian specialities and international cuisine.

The centrepiece of the resort is the renowned Montecastillo Golf Course, an 18-hole championship layout designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus. The course has hosted numerous prestigious professional tournaments and is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in Spain. With wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, mature trees and challenging greens, it provides an enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities.
The City…
Jerez itself is one of Spain’s most charming cities, famous for its sherry bodegas, flamenco culture and rich history. The beautiful beaches of the Costa de la Luz are within easy reach, allowing visitors to combine great golf with sightseeing, gastronomy and relaxation. Whether travelling with friends, as a couple or as part of a larger golf group, there is plenty to enjoy both on and off the course.
