Golf Holidays in Southern Brittany

A golf holiday in South Brittany offers so much more than golf.  With a mild climate nearly all year-round, South Brittany is the closest sunshine destination to the UK.  In fact, La Baule boasts it has more hours of sunshine per year than anywhere else in France.   No wonder Neolithic man made his home here!

The whole coast from the western town of Benodet town to south of Nantes is perfect for a lazy holiday – taking in the coast, the peaceful countryside and some good golf courses along the way.   The region of South Brittany generally offers beach-orientated resorts but there are two famous exceptions – the Relais et Chateaux Domaine de la Bretesche and renowned destination of La Baule.  And there’s been an impressive wave of small, family-run hotels opening up over the last few years offering quality, classic dining and excellent comfort…Without breaking the bank.

For golf, there are eight courses worth playing in and around La Baule and there are five more heading westwards along the coast where there’s a little more driving to do but great value to be had.

Most of my clients take the overnight ferry to/from Saint Malo from where South Brittany can be reached in two hours.   You can also fly direct to nearby Nantes from London and Calais is just over six hours’ motorway drive.

Ideal for a break of four nights or more, a golf holiday in South Brittany provides a relaxing (and at good value too) holiday away from any crowds from March through to early November.  And the deals in Spring and Autumn make it a bargain.
