A beautiful beach-front hotel, Hotel l’Hermitage provides the perfect base for clients looking for high-quality and a relaxed ambience.

The 200 bedrooms come in 12 different categories (from 25m2 to 80m2) so there’s bound to be a type and budget for you. All the bedrooms are elegant and stylish – particularly from the third category upwards. Completely refurbished in 2019 by the celebrated Chantal Peyrat, the look is soft, light and luxurious.

Literally on the beach of the famous bay of La Baule and just 50 yards from the Atlantic Ocean at high tide, the accent from the kitchen is decidedly sea-faring. There are three restaurants to choose from at the hotel with my favourite being the beachfront Eden Beach. The sister-hotel of Castel Marie Louise is just a short walk away and that offers an intimate gourmet affair and another beachfront brasserie. Hotel Castel Marie has 29 bedrooms and is a Relais et Chateaux hotel so ask me for rates if the size and style is more to your liking.

For leisure, Hotel Barriere l’Hermitage has everything for everyone – seawater indoor and outdoor pools, a beach-side gym, spa, beach and sea sports, a world-class tennis and equestrian centre just a short walk away, bike hire and also access to famous Royal Spa. For golf, you’re spoilt with 36 holes at La Baule and five other golf courses in the region well worth playing. And after all this activity?…Head to the beach and soak up the sun. After all, the bay boasts the greatest number of sunny days in France.
