Golf Holidays in North Brittany
North Brittany offers a wealth of golf courses, a truly French atmosphere and easy access – particularly for British golfers living near the south coast of England.
With one of Europe’s oldest seaside golf courses, two more links and four good parkland courses, it’s an area where you can really combine different styles of golf to find the real champion in your group. Or take it easy and concentrate on playing just one or two courses while staying nearby in my experienced choice of hotels. Pictured above is the little-known but very enjoyable Saint Cast Golf Club.
You can take the fast-ferry to Cherbourg, the cruise ferry to Caen or the overnight ferry to Saint Malo. For those who prefer the road or air to the sea, it takes five hours to drive from Calais and Dinard and Rennes airports are served by London airports.
For resorts, towns and cities, Northern Brittany is special: the smart and small seaside resort of Dinard, the medieval town of Dinan, the beautiful and historic city of Rennes and I’ve chosen a few golf hotels and countryside hotels in between. Eating and drinking is great value and seafood lovers are in their element. A leisurely game of golf, followed by an afternoon exploring and dinner with a freshly caught fish with white wine from the nearby Loire…That’s a good day!
