Course overview

Rennes Saint Jacques is a big club in many respects and hosts several important amateur events.  It’s well maintained and good value.   A quite difficult course with tall trees really influencing several tee shots (especially from the Tiger tee), it impressed me and my fellow players in a recent tournament but it was also agreed that a couple of holes were almost unplayable from the back tees.  Easy walking, the course requires a mix of big hitting and well-measured approaches as several of the greens are raised.  There are a few terrific holes and all the greens putt very well.  Thanks to Saint Jacques, Cice Blossac and La Freslonniere, Rennes is now an attractive destination with its vastly improved choice of hotels and three good golf courses.
