Superb value is to be had on one of France’s best modern courses, designed by the prolific Alain Prat in 1992. With a stunning site, Pleneuf Val Andre mixes some brilliant links holes with some tough parkland holes and the wind can often add to the challenge.
The course sets out fairly gently and distance will help you early on and your control is severely tested over the excellent turn. And the last few holes are shorter but tighter. About 6500 yards off the very tees, mostly easy-walking and with a par of 72, it’s not overlong but it does go very long on fun and beauty. Pleneuf Val Andre is a first-class test of golf and short be played wherever you’re staying in north Brittany.
