Golf Holidays in Coastal Normandy

Coastal Normandy is a firm favourite for British golfers.  With fantastic access including ferries to Dieppe, Le Havre, Caen and Cherbourg, short-sea Channel crossing to Dover, Eurotunnel to Calais and flights from Bournemouth, Birmingham, Exeter and Stansted, there’s plenty of opportunity to explore this beautiful and welcoming region.

The golf is traditional in design so very much back in vogue for golfers who don’t want to play over-long and over-demanding courses.  From century-old links to more recently created forest and parkland courses, there are 12 courses that I recommend on and around the coast.

You can choose to play and stay in and around Caen and Bayeux and enjoy the soft scenery and the brutal sensations you’ll experience when visiting the incredible WWII monuments and museums.  If you’re looking for a classic seaside destination then “retro” stretch of coastline from Cabourg through to Honfleur is perfect with its bars, restaurants, casinos, spas and density of pretty golf courses.   Further along the coast, you come to the renowned “Cote d’Albatre” with its white cliffs and the always “just perfect” Dormy House hotel in Etretat with its stunning views and the superb links just up the road.  And, even closer to Calais, is the ancient port of Dieppe which has become the focal destination for a charming triangle of courses including Dieppe, Etretat and the recently-opened Cote d’Albatre.
