Hotel Overview

Minthis Resort, about 15 minutes inland from Paphos, is a stand-alone golf and spa resort in rugged and stunning surroundings. The resort features a range of top-quality and spacious accommodations surrounded by a charming golf course and ancient orchards. The spa is impressive and the service very friendly.

The build quality of the apartments and public buildings is outstanding with apartments featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two balconies and a large lounge/dining/kitchen area. Those on the ground floor come with small garden and those on the first floor boast even better views of the Troodos mountains and countryside.

The golf course is pleasant but better golfers would be a little frustrated. It starts with a fine first hole and there are a few good holes but overall the course is a little short and simple for modern equipment, and maintenance standards are not particularly high. But for holiday golf in pretty surroundings, it ticks the boxes.

When I last stayed in December 2022, the clubhouse served as the restaurant where a very substantial breakfast and a hearty lunch and dinner menu is served. A rather splendid bar was opening just after my visit as were a couple of shops and a second restaurant too. So the resort is gradually developing into a relaxing destination where everything you need is just a two-minute walk from your excellent accommodation. The aim is to make Minthis a “village” and I can see that happening. Prices are very keen.

Other leisure facilities include a wellness sanctuary with 25m indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, hair and nail salon, state-of-the-art gym and yoga deck. There are up to four exercise classes a day including yoga, glutes and abs, aqua workout, pilates and stretching…Everything you need to do between last night’s dinner and today’s lunch! There’s also a jogging track around the Estate which forms a Natura 2000 nature reserve (Minthis has also gained eco-credentials for its restaurant and golf course). For golfers, there’s a practice ground and two short-game greens which, alongside the golf course, makes Minthis a good choice for budding golfers who don’t want the pressure of playing on bigger courses.

To pop in and out of Paphos, to explore the local villages (where there are a couple of super restaurants) and three other golf courses and then retreat back to your countryside haven, Minthis is ideal.
