Hotel Overview

The four-star AlmaLusa Comporta is a 53-bedroom hotel very close to the heart of the small town with salt and rice fields between it and the nearby coast. The hotel has a seasonal rooftop bar serving tapas, brasserie, bar/library outdoor pool and Grab and Go style cafe. Troia Golf Club and Las Dunas Golf Club are both just 15 minutes from the hotel and both courses make the area superb for golf. Pinheirinho is aiming to get its operating licence late 2026 and the rebuilt Troia Golf Club (a former World Top 100 layout) is re-opening on February 1, 2027.

Hotel Accommodation

Some of the bedrooms are small (13m2) but that is cost-effective and good ews for those who prefer single-occupancy. For couples, I would suggest the 20m2 Terrace bedroom which comes with a private 12m2 terrace or “go big” with a 36m2 Pool Suite with living and kitchen area and 8m2 private terrace leading to the pool.

Dining & Bars

The range of good food you can find at the Almalusa Comporta is impressive. You’ll find a buffet breakfast served daily in the Duna breakfast room. There’s also the seasonable rooftop bar where you can find snacks while watching the sun set on the nearly Atlantic beaches. Another option is the AlmaLusa Café, on the ground floor of the hotel wing, you will find delicious and healthy food options and refreshing beverages made with natural ingredients. Finally you can chose between a light delicious meal at the Duna by the Pool, relax at a bar in the library or enjoy a Grab& Go service. As well as the hotel’s eateries, Comporta has a brilliant array of restaurants where the service, wine list and cooking will grace any resort – all between a 30-second and 5-minute walk from the hotel as well as two beachside bars & restaurants a 20-minute walk away,.

I admire AlmaLusa as it’s full of ideas and enthusiasm and where charm, local and natural materials and hospitality will come to the fore. Head to the massive beaches or rice fields for an afternoon stroll or enjoy the laid-back theme and style of the hotel.
