Tróia Golf Course, designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., is an ageing gem and one of the most challenging courses in Portugal. Located on the Tróia Peninsula, this par-72 course stretches 6,920 yards (6,320 meters) and is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sado Estuary. The course features a classic links-style layout with undulating fairways and fast greens. Coastal winds add an extra layer of difficulty. Tróia Golf is widely acclaimed and it consistently ranks among the top courses in Europe; in 2023, it was ranked No.17 on Golf World’s Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe. However, compared to the two Comporta golf courses, Troia needs some TLC to bring it back to its true glory – under ambitious and experienced new ownership, we’re expecting Troia to give this stunning area of Portugal its very own perfect golfing trio.
