Golf Holidays in Provence

Provence is the archetypal perfect French region for a golf holiday – where the locals are justifiably proud and deservedly envied by everyone seeking La Belle Vie.   Where ideal weather meets with the finest of foods, where rugged countryside marries with sublime beaches.

From Nimes to the coast near Toulon, I’ve chosen some gorgeous hotels and a fine mix of championship and holiday golf courses for your golf holiday in Provence.  Many of the towns and cities were founded by the Romans and Avignon was, for nearly 70 years, the home of the Pope.   So as well as the famous countryside, there’s architecture and ambience to admire.

In my opinion, there are four super courses – Nimes Campagne, Pont Royal, Fregate and Barbaraoux.  And there are half-a-dozen clubs that are pleasant layouts in memorable surroundings – such as Servanes and Sainte Baume.  And new from 2019 are my great-value South of France Golf Passes featuring three regions (Languedoc, Provence and the Cote d’Azur) and 56 golf courses at reduced rates.

Getting to Provence is easy with flights to Nimes, Avignon, Marseilles and Toulon.  There’s also a decent choice of direct train services from London.  Several of my clients choose to self-drive so I arrange one or two stop-offs for them in each direction to make a touring holiday to remember – and allow plenty of space to bring back delicious foods.
