Golf Holidays in Versailles

Versailles was the hotspot of world golf in 2018 with the Ryder Cup being so successfully held at Golf National.

As well as Golf National, there are plenty of other golfing gems – some of which are rated even higher and more fun to play. Saint Germain, Saint Cloud, Saint Nom La Breteche and Racing Club are among the most prestigious courses in Europe and they are joined by the likes of Feucherolles by Bernhard Langer, Courson Monteloup by Robert von Hagge and the little-known but highly enjoyable Le Prieure, Vaucouleurs, Golf Parc and Chateau de la Chouette.

Versailles is a wonderful tourist destination with its world-famous chateau, museums, national parks and forests, smart shops, bustling marketplace and the myriad of surrounding and unspoilt villages and towns such as Dampierre and Montfont l’Amaury,

My choice of hotels range from the superb Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace in Versailles to family-run chateaux-hotels and inns in the countryside to the west of the famous royal city.

Getting to Versailles is easy – it takes just over three hours from Calais, two hours from both Dieppe and Le Havre and the international airport of Paris Orly is just 30 minutes away. Once there, and from where ever you’re staying, you’ve got plenty of golf within a short drive and lots of things to see and do. You can even head into Paris on a direct train service.
