Golf Holidays in South England

For the south of England, I’ve chosen Dorset, Hampshire and East Sussex.
Dorset is under two hours from London and the coastal area around Poole and Bournemouth offers an array of great courses, smooth hotels and lots to see and do in the afternoons and evenings.

For golf, Parkstone, Ferndown, Isle of Purbeck, Broadstone and Sherborne read like a “who’s who” of classic heathland courses and there are some lesser known (and very keenly priced) layouts such as Knighton Heath and Dudsbury and the relatively new but equally prestigious Remedy Oak.

Hotel-wise, I like the 40-bedroom Harbour Heights which is central for the courses, close to the sights of Poole and has a terrace overlooking Sandbanks and the Channel. Harbour Heights is good value for my clients and with a fine reputation for food.

Old Thorns Golf Hotel packages are hard-to-beat for value and you add to the quality of golf by playing Liphook and Blackmoor.
The most impressive hotel for golfers in East Sussex is Ashdown Park. A good quality four-star and member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it’s perfectly placed for the two courses at Ashdown Forest, the two at East Sussex National, Chartham and the hotel even has its own 18-hole Par 3 course.
