With its own 9-hole course and Sheringham and Royal Cromer ten minutes’ drive either side, The Links provides a comfortable and sporty base from which to sample the great courses, charming pubs and gorgeous coastline.

Bedrooms are spacious, practical and come with good bathrooms and some with views over the Par Three course laid out in 1905 by JH Taylor!..It’s perfect as a loosener on your first day or even a fun Foursome before dinner.

The reputation for good food in Norfolk has come up leaps and bounds in recent years and I know a few locals who think highly to the hotel restaurant, with local crab and lobster often on the menu. The Sports Bar provides a second dining venue with live sport, pool, darts and a jovial atmosphere.

To keep yourself trim, there’s an indoor pool, gym and tennis. The Links is a very accomplished three-star hotel with facilities to grace more expensive establishments.

140 miles from Central London and 160 miles from Birmingham, Norfolk is very high up on my list of favourite destinations in the UK and always provides a warm welcome and revitalizing sea air to blow away any city cobwebs. As well as Royal Cromer and Sheringham, I can also book tee-times at Royal West Norfolk (Brancaster) and Hunstanton which are both pretty much en-route from most cities.
