Course overview

40 minutes north of Turin, Torino is the home club of European Tour and Ryder Cup star Francesco Molinari.   Rated in the Top 10 in Italy and Europe’s Top 100, Torino La Mandria claims the most spectacular natural surroundings for golf in Italy.  And it’s hard to argue.  It’s a gem of club with 36 beautiful holes, impeccable maintenance standards and a faultless clubhouse.  The original course was laid out by John Morrison who also started Biella the same year.   The result was a classic British-style parkland in priceless surroundings and with lots of Italian class.  The third and fourth nines were added later, and the 36 holes were separated into the Blue and Yellow course.  The Blue (par 72, 6900 yards) demands steady driving as the bunkers are “perfectly-placed” for sloppy tee-shots, the fairways then lead to fairly narrow greens where approaches are better long than shot.  The Yellow (also par 72, 6900 yards) is more forgiving off the tee but provides plenty of challenge and variety with dog-legs and  little bit of water.
