Course overview

Just 15 minutes’ drive from Dublin, The Island opened in 1890 and is a Regional Qualifying Course for The Open. It’s a classic, old-fashioned links on rugged terrain with towering dunes and estuary and sea views and one of my favourite courses in Ireland. It’s a superb way to immerse yourself in links golf without suffering from too many tricked-up challenges.

Rated among the the top ten courses in Ireland, The Island comes highly recommended.
