Opio Valbonne Golf Club RESORT
Course overview
Although not as old as the on-site hotel building which dates back to the 17th-century, Opio Valbonne Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in the south, opening the last time England won the football World Cup. As such the layout is a little dated and short but the 6265 yards more than compensates by being elegantly spread out following the borders of the 220 hectare Chateau de Begude estate with its ancient oaks and parasol pine trees providing welcome shade. It’s a serene setting for a relaxing game of golf and made all the more satisfying if staying at the adjacent Chateau de Begude. There’s nothing much nicer than walking from your hotel straight to the first tee so ask me about my special packages at the adjacent four-star Chateau de Begude.
