Course overview

Opened in 1997 and near to the iconic port town of Kinsale, Old Head was designed to amaze and it still does.   Built on a 100m high narrow headland, you can’t get closer to the Atlantic Ocean.  Described as “Pebble Beach on steroids”, Old Head is brilliantly presented and has more photo opportunities than any course I’ve played.  The course is necessarily wide to help deal with the inevitable breezes (or stronger) and requires strategy far more than brute strength with a perfect mix of hard, birdieable, dogleg and straight holes.
