Augerville Golf Club FOREST

Course overview

Augerville is a charming and beautiful golf course, labelled by me as a “hidden gem”.  The course cuts through an ancient farming and woodland estate with many species of fine trees and ancient bridges. A couple of the holes are relatively weak but there is no denying the overall quality.  You need some good driving as some of the par fours are quite long but, more importantly, a good golfing brain to plan the attack as it’s often better to play for position than going for broke.  The greens are long too so make sure you get your yardages right.

With five par threes, and some clever water hazards, this is a course where you might have a couple of mishaps but it also gives you the chance to get the occasional birdie and pars are not too difficult it you’re sensible.

The four-star Chateau d’Augerville is on-site and is a remarkable conversion with plenty of bedrooms, two restaurants and a spa.  The prices at Augerville have increased a wee bit over the years but it’s one of the nicest chateau golf hotels in the north of France.
