Phuket is the largest of Thailand’s islands and sits on the Andaman Sea. It’s an island of contrasts with lush interior jungles, village street food and beautiful beaches mixing in with five-star hotels, beautiful golf courses and busy, jostling nightlife. Just over an hour from Bangkok by air, Phuket can be a quiet beach and sun-orientated holiday or a lively, non-stop golf and fun break.
Sights to see include The Old Town which is full of historic and colonial houses and markets.
Or head to the zoo with its collection of Asian and African mammals, to the north-east of the island is Phang Nga Bya with its limestone cliffs, the gorgeous (and increasingly protected) beaches on Phi Phi Island are famous throughout the world and you should taken an “open minded” stroll through the night district of Bangle Road. The island is only 20 miles long and 10 miles wide and I arrange private airport and golf transfers for you. Taxis are plentiful and cheap and it’s easy to get around.
I’ve selected my favourite golf courses in and around Phuket – from resort course to challenging “tour” layouts, you’ll be delighted with the quality and service.
December and January are the busiest months and November through to March are the best for the weather. April through to October are wetter but fantastic value.
You can fly to Phuket via Bangkok or Abu Dhabi and Dubai which all make for great two-centre combinations when you mix the beach and greenery of Phuket with the city-life of the stop-off.
