There are eight main islands of Hawaii. We recommend a two-centre holiday to make the best of your visit to this Pacific paradise – taking in Kailua-Kona on Hawaii Island and Honolulu on Oahu Island.
Hawaii Island is known as The Big Island and our preferred venue for this part of your holiday is Kailua Kona which boasts four of the best golf courses of Hawaii and near perfect weather and fabulous white sand beaches.
Kailua Kona is located where the western slopes of the Hualalai volcano meets the ocean. It’s known as the sunny outdoors capital of The Big Island. Stroll along the fashionable Ali’i Drive with its pier and restaurants or just savour the laid-back attitude and nature. Just 20 minutes from Kona International Airport, it’s the perfect place for the first leg of your Hawaiian luxury golf holiday. And for the second leg, it’s just a 45 minute flight from Kona to Honolulu.
Oahu Island is the third largest island, the most popular tourist destination and home to the capital Honolulu. The beach town of Waikiki is a neighbourhood within Honolulu and is famous for its surf beaches, designer stores and vibrant entertainment – all focused on and around the seaside. Our recommended hotel is the five-star Halekulani on Waikiki beachfront.
As well as the beach and the luxury resorts, you can visit Pearl Harbour, Iolani Palace and Hanauma Bay Nature Reserve. Our selection of four golf courses mix some spectacular locations and designs with easy access to the hotel with no course further than 30 minutes’ drive from your luxury hotel.
