I am delighted to provide my recommendation for your golf trip on the Silver Coast north of Lisbon.
The five-star Marriott Praia d’El Rey ticks the boxes for location and style with up to three restaurants, spacious bedrooms, plenty of leisure facilities and a European Top 100 golf courses…All on an Atlantic beachfront location. The resort is like a village with apartments, hotel bedrooms and villas so there is quite a bit of life going on. It’s also just 15 minutes from the medieval town of Obidos which is most charming and there are plenty of restaurants in the area we work with.
For golf, I’ve included one round each at West Cliffs (pictured above), Praia d’El Rey and Royal Obidos so it’s a strong itinerary with a mostly links feel to it. Obidos is the weakest golf course but still good fun. Private transfers to/from West Cliffs and Royal Obidos are included in the holiday cost. West Cliffs and Praia d’El Rey are deservedly rated among Europe’s very best golf courses.
