Hotel Accommodation
The Westin Resort offers 445 well-appointed rooms and suites – from Deluxe Garden/Partial Sea View to bedrooms with their own plunge pool and direct sea view. The hotel also offers a huge choice of leisure facilities (the best I’ve seen in Europe) including water sports, tennis, nature trails, cycling, Children’s Clubs, a famous spa, basketball…..
Dining & Bars
The Resort has many dining options; an Italian, a steakhouse, Greek restaurants, Japanese and Mediterranean options – all very close to each other, in and around the “village square” where residents of the two hotels (plus some from Costa Navarino’s other two hotels – the W and Mandarin Oriental) meet from lunchtime to late.
Golf
The Dunes Course (5200-7120 yards)
Adjacent to The Romanos and Westin, The Dunes is a Bernhard Langer layout with typically challenging approach shots and contoured greens. Weaving through olive orchards and the coast, The Dunes is arguably the favourite course of the four at Costa Navarino, I’ve yet to score well at The Dunes but I always want to come back for more.
The Bay Course (5,131 – 7,180 yards)
Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, the Bay Course is a scenic experience through olive groves and along the bay. With its subtle bunkers and undulating greens, it offers golfers unique challenges while rewarding sensible play. The cosy clubhouse may miss out on views but makes up for it with excellent food and a James Bond-like design.
The Olympic Course (5,157 – 7,002 yards
Voted the World’s Best New Golf Development in 2020, this course, designed by José María Olazábal, boasts wide fairways and well-protected greens. It’s the least technically demanding of the four, making it easier to score well, while offering the best views.
The Hills Course (4,757 – 6,908 yards)
The Hills features a strategic mix of long and short holes, requiring smart play. Its gorgeous par threes, short length, and Bermuda fringes also create a satisfying challenge. It’s a perfect representation of how Olazábal played during his prime, rounding out the resort’s exceptional golf offerings.
