Hotel Overview

Opened in 2022, The W Costa Navarino is a contemporary and trendy resort designed for adults and children aged 12 or more. It’s adjacent to Navarino Agora, which I consider the second village of the resort. and six miles from the original resort where you’ll find The Westin and The Romanos hotels.

Navarino Agora has restaurants, shops, artisan craft stores, delicatessens, cafes, a virtual reality arcade, and an outdoor cinema. It’s where the 21st century meets Messinia – blending a beach vibe with modern fun.

Hotel Accommodation

Recognised in Conde Nast’s “Top 50 Best Resorts in the World,” The W features 246 rooms, including my favourite, the WOD Beachfront Infinity Suite. From here, you can swim and then walk to the adjacent 450-meter sand beach. The W Wet Deck combines a huge pool, bar, sun lounges, and entertainment for endless fun in the sun.  It’s trendy and a great concept for the young and young-at-heart.

Dining & Bars

The resort offers a huge array of local dining solutions with restaurants, lounges, a deli, a bakery, and a coffee shop, there’s no shortage of choices before you even consider the extra choices at the original resort.  All told, there are more than 30 bars and restaurants with many of the latter included in the Dine Around option.

Golf

The Dunes Course (5200-7120 yards)

Adjacent to The Romanos and Westin, The Dunes is a Bernhard Langer layout with typically challenging approach shots and contoured greens.  Weaving through olive orchards and the coast, The Dunes is arguably the favourite course of the four at Costa Navarino, I’ve yet to score well at The Dunes but I always want to come back for more.

The Bay Course (5,131 – 7,180 yards)

Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, the Bay Course is a scenic experience through olive groves and along the bay. With its subtle bunkers and undulating greens, it offers golfers unique challenges while rewarding sensible play. The fabulous clubhouse may miss out on views but makes up for it with excellent food and it’s James Bond-like design.

The Olympic Course (5,157 – 7,002 yards

Voted the World’s Best New Golf Development in 2020, this course, designed by José María Olazábal, boasts wide fairways and well-protected greens. It’s the least technically demanding of the four, making it easier to score well, while offering the best views.

The Hills Course (4,757 – 6,908 yards)

The Hills features a strategic mix of long and short holes, requiring smart play. Its gorgeous par threes, short length, and Bermuda fringes also create a satisfying challenge. It’s a perfect representation of how Olazábal played during his prime, rounding out the resort’s exceptional golf offerings.
