Hotel Overview

Located on the UNESCO-protected island of La Gomera, Hotel Jardin Tecina and Tecina Golf boast spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and towards Mount Teide on Tenerife. La Gomera was also declared a World Biosphere Reserve since 2012.

Access is relatively complicated but adds to the flavour of the holiday and the destination is definitely worth the effort. Fly into Tenerife and then take a taxi to the port. Then awaits the 40-minute fast ferry and a private transfer to the resort. However I can arrange a private minibus all the way from Tenerife Airport, on the ferry and to the hotel for a reasonable supplement.

Accommodation

The hotel was completely renovated in 2017 and 2018. Its’s set in 70,000 m2 of wonderful gardens and there are 350 species of plants from all over the globe. Traditional-style bungalows make up the 434 bedrooms and suites. They situated on two levels in small clusters around the resort. All the bedrooms are a decent size and most of my clients choose the Superior Sea View bedrooms. These rooms perch on the clifftop from where the next landmass is the Western Saharha, some 300 miles across the Atlantic.

Dinning & Bars

There’s a choice of five restaurants and bars, all with different themes and styles. Again, my clients take the excellent-value half-board package. It features the generous buffet dinner and the option to pay a little more to dine at the a la carte restaurants.

Recreational & Wellness

After golf and a good lunch, the gardens are the perfect place for a siesta or you can work off the pudding in the numerous pools, the gym or tennis club. I would very much recommend taking at least one day to explore the amazingly unspoilt and natural islands by signing up to the excursions organised by the hotel, or you can hire a car for a day.

Conclusion

My rates at Jardin Tecina are very competitive and an absolute steal for much of the year. There attractively-priced even in the high-season winter months. It’s an ideal choice if you want the warmth of the Canaries with a wonderfully natural setting and keen prices added to the bargain. And the last piece in the attractive jigsaw is the golf course. This provides a fine holiday golf challenge with several excellent holes and treasured views.
