Hotel Overview

Located on the south side of the island, Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World but manages to provide “big hotel” facilities.  Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort takes its design cue from the colonial Bel Ombre sugar estate on which it was built. The architecture is spacious and impressive. In fact, there’s a huge amount of service, generous presentation and detail wherever you look. You’d be hard-pressed to beat the 158 bedrooms for size and style and there’s a very welcoming “zen” ambience.

Accommodation

The accommodation at Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort consists of 158 suites with beautiful sea views or garden or river views. The suites are spacious and elegant, featuring 24-hour butler service, interactive flat-screen TVs, data ports, mini-bars, tea and coffee making facilities, Nespresso coffee machines, safes, hairdryers, bathrobes and slippers. These suites are designed to reflect the colonial style of the hotel, with wooden furniture, white linens, and floral accents. The suites are divided into 12 categories, ranging from Garden View Suites (62m²) to Ocean Suites (104m²) to Beachfront Senior Suites (160m²). Some suites also have private pools or outdoor jacuzzi. The suites are ideal for couples, families, or groups of friends who want to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing stay in Mauritius.

Golf

The Le Telfair Golf Resort (the two sister and adjacent hotels) offers a world-class golf experience for its guests. The resort has its own 18-hole championship course called Le Château Golf Course, which was designed by the legendary South African golfer, Peter Matkovich. The course is set against a stunning backdrop of rolling hills and the sparkling Indian Ocean and provides a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels. The course is also consistently voted the Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards.

In addition to Le Château Golf Course, the resort also gives access to another 18-hole course called La Réserve Golf Links, which is the Indian Ocean’s first and only true links course. This course was co-designed by Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen and offers panoramic ocean views on every hole. The course is also home to the DP World Tour Mauritius Open, a prestigious tournament that attracts some of the best golfers in the world.  I would be very surprised if La Reserve is not soon rated in the World Top 100.

The resort also features a Golfzone Leadbetter Academy, where guests can learn from certified instructors and improve their skills using state-of-the-art technology. The academy offers a range of packages and programs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players.

Dining and Bars

The Le Telfair Golf Resort has a variety of bars and restaurants to suit your taste and mood. You can enjoy the following options:

Annabella’s: The hotel’s main restaurant serves breakfast and dinner in a colonial-style setting. The menu features local and international dishes, focusing on fresh, organic ingredients. Watch the chefs in the open kitchen or enjoy live music in the evenings.

Gin’ja: A beachfront restaurant specializing in Asian fusion with Mauritian flair. Enjoy sushi, dim sum, curries, and more, all while admiring lagoon views. Adults-only, reservation required.

Le Palmier: A poolside restaurant offering light meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the day, including salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and burgers. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail by the pool.

The Cavendish Bar & Lounge: A cozy, elegant bar with whiskies, rums, cocktails, and wines. Relax with live piano music, board games, or a cigar in the smoking lounge.
