Hotel Hermitage is the quality four-star sister hotel 300 metres across the private gardens from Hotel Royal. With 80 bedrooms, the Hotel Ermitage is “clubbier” than the chic Hotel Royal.

Golf

For golf, golf, golf Le Manoir du Golf sits on a brilliant Golf Academy and the first tee of the beautiful 18-hole golf course is only half a mile away. With just a dozen bedrooms, The Manoir du Golf ticks all the boxes for the keenest of golfers who want to play golf, work on their game and dip into the nearby luxurious resort facilities.

Accommodations

La Verniaz is a boutique four-star hotel just 200m from the Hermitage with Evian Tennis Club lying in between, There are 36 bedrooms and 6 chalets and I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere and spectacular lunches on the terrace.

Residents at all of the hotels have free access to the shuttle service that works its way around the numerous attractions, again with free access to the facilities. For prices, there’s something to suit most budgets and there’s a further discount if you’re happy to prepay.

Bars & Dining

For dining, the resort boasts a perfect selection of eateries including a great buffet lunch at the golf club and the trendy bistro at the casino in the lakeside town. Take our Dine Around half-board and you can choose to eat at any of them. You also have specialist spas to choose from – after all, another word for luxury is choice. There are three spas – one at each main hotel plus Les Thermes in the centre of the resort which can be reached via the resort’s own funicular. There are treatments and “cures” for every age and the resort has the only swimming pool in the world filled with Evian water.

Children are exceptionally looked after with their own qualified and supervised resort facilities (including pool and restaurant) to enjoy – so much so that they might not want to come back until bedtime (or at all!). Surrounding the resort is 44000 hectares of forest, and beyond that, the Mont Blanc glacier and mountain range.
