As one of the largest golf resorts in Europe, Celtic Manor offers three golf courses – including the 2010 Ryder Cup course – three hotels, self-catering lodges, eight restaurants, seven bars & cafes, two health clubs, spa and a hairdresser. In short, it’s a one-stop-shop for a full-on golf break with everything the family needs.

The Resort Hotel leads the way with 332 five-star bedrooms in a contemporary environment. As the focal point of the entire development, the Resort Hotel overlooks the golf courses and most of the hotel facilities are on-site. If you’re staying at any of the accommodations, you can use the free resort shuttle service. And if you’re holidaying for a special occasion, I would suggest The Signature Collection bedrooms on the 6th floor of The Resort Hotel with their luxurious decor, access to the Signature Lounge, complimentary wine and cakes on arrival.

The four-star Coldra Court is a cosier affair with a “modern American” feel to it. Here there are 148 bedrooms, restaurant, health club and bar. Five minutes from the main resort, Coldra Court is a good choice if you’re looking for a discreet base while taking advantage of the reduced green-fees for residents.

The Manor House is our favourite and the smallest hotel at Celtic Manor with just 65 four-star bedrooms, an Asian restaurant and a health club. And all just a 90-second walk from the main resort hotel. A country house hotel with a choice of modern bedrooms and the period bedrooms in the original 19th-century Manor, you have the best of both worlds with a cosy ambience and world-class facilities on your doorstep.

Last but not least are the huge five-star Hunter Lodges featuring open-plan lounge/fully-equipped kitchen/diner, an outdoor hot tub on the panoramic terrace, sauna and a bathroom for each of the four bedrooms plus an extra “day” bathroom and Chill-out room. It’s perfect for family gatherings, groups of couples or golfing mates who prefer to spend time amongst themselves than with other hotel residents. The Hunter Lodges are just a short walk from the 2010 Clubhouse where breakfast can be taken or you can “order in” with various food hampers from the resort or even Waitrose.
