Thorpeness HEATHLAND

Course overview

First opened in 1910, the great James Braid laid out the current design in 1922-23.  With tight grasses and seaside winds, Thorpeness plays like a links but it looks like a heathland.  Built on sandy, the irrigation and condition is impeccable and there are plenty of bunkers to defend the 6500 yards from the back tees.  Easy walking and classic golf.
