A classic parkland golf course that’s characterised by its diversity and the fact that it incorporates all the natural features of Mallorca. With wide fairways but penal rough, it is ideal for players of all levels.
One of the oldest courses on the Spanish islands, Son Severa was opened in the 1960’s and is set amid the pine clad mountains with glorious views over the bay of Cala Millor and the Mediterranean Sea. It’s lined with oak, pine, olive, carob and palm trees, all of which add to the challenge of reaching the greens. Holes 3 to 7 – known as the Pine Trap are particularly interesting (aka treacherous!), winding through pine woods, a lake and hills.
The greens are undulating and there is water on 6 holes but there are layups if need be. You can also enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and the presence of ducks roaming around the first tee and clubhouse creates a laid-back atmosphere. Good food in the laid-back clubhouse.
