Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf
Course overview
The Hambantota is Sri Lanka’s first foray in high-quality golf design. And they’ve succeeded – the course, designed by Rodney Wright who’s produced a lot of good courses in Hawaii, Asia and Mauritius, is pretty, not too tough and easy walking. There’s plenty of water around the turn but the coconut tree-lined fairways are welcoming and the back nine is really good with a stretch of holes running alongside the beach.
