Founded in 1903, the Royal Ostend Golf Club has changed character over the years as the coast rescinded and the houses got closer but it’s a fine course with some very subtle and cracking holes where patience more than distance is the key.

The fairways are wide but that’s useful when the wind blows and the greens are small so you need a strong short game. There are some outstanding seaside views and the old-style clubhouse and welcome is lovely. Now rated 4th best in Belgium.
