Home to the French PGA, Le Vaudreuil looks a picture as you drive through the gates and see the magnificent thatched clubhouse and the surrounding holes.
A delightful parkland golf course awaits. It’s easy walking, varied and not too difficult so is ideal holiday golf. Maintenance and presentation is worthy of the PGA brand and it’s no surprise that the club fields strong teams in national tournaments. The fairways allow for aggressive drives but the greens are small and well-defended. We like it – not least for the great food and comfortable feeling.
The gatehouse hotel – formerly Hotel du Golf – was completely renovated in 2016 and renamed Le Grand Slam…With just 8 bedrooms it’s perfect for a cosy and very charming golf-hotel stay. The bedrooms range from 22m2 to 35m2 and are surprisingly good. If you’re travelling as a Four- or Six-Ball, ask us about the three bedroom/three bathroom cottages located an eight-iron from the clubhouse.
The clubhouse restaurant is open every lunchtime and there are several brasserie-type eateries in the adjacent village and I know a couple of gems within a ten-minute drive.
