With more and more of my clients wanting to travel further afield, we’ve added Cambodia, Bali, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand to our programme of tailor-made golf holidays. This ties in very nicely with our advantageous flight prices (covered by ATOL and Airline Failure Insurance) as clients can fly in comfort and value sometimes direct to the destination or with a stop-off (or quick break) in excellent hubs such as Dubai.
I recommend a two-week time slot to take in two different parts of the country – that way you experience more of the flavour and you can mix some serious exploring with a more relaxing second week on the fairways and beach. Cambodia has just been voted Emerging Golf Destination of the Year by IAGTO and the beauty of Bali has been known for many years…In fact, my parents went there and seriously thought about not coming back: I just hope they would have asked me to come and visit! Malaysia and Thailand are perhaps the best for contrasting two centre holidays with the vibrant Malaysian city of Kuala Lumpur being the perfect foil for the idyllic island of Langkawi, and Bangkok and south Phuket Island ensuring that you see the best of both worlds in Thailand.
The quality of the golf courses is very high with big-name designers creating modern masterpieces as the focal point of luxurious resorts. And there are some older, more traditional courses to enjoy as well. I like playing a mix of new and old and, where ever I’ve played, the condition of the golf courses – and the service and welcome – has been outstanding.
Prices are very reasonable and the holidays provide an invigorating and high-quality experience, never to be forgotten.
