Formerly The Kintyre, the new-look course has a new name – Robert The Bruce. Interestingly enough, Robert The Bruce was raised at Turnberry Castle where the lighthouse now stands. The Kintyre was a decent second house with the Ailsa taking the fame and glory. And while the Ailsa is still No.1, Robert The Bruce is a very good track making great use of the scenery and true links design. Designed by Donald Steel and Martin Ebert, it’s already rated 40th best in Scotland after only opening in 2017. Turnberry now has 36 holes worth playing.
