Founded in 1787, Glasgow Golf Club moved to the Gailes site in 1892 with Willie Park fine-tuning the design in 1912. Regular Qualifying Course for The Open Championship, Glasgow Gailes is arguably the toughest along the Ayrshire coast as the fairways are among the narrowest and there’s plenty of gorse although there is a generous semi-rough to avoid being too penal.
Glasgow Gailes is a course for true links players – where playing it low and bumps and runs are not only fun but rewarding too.
