Originating from 1888, Cork “came of age” in 1925 when the renowned Alister MacKenzie extended the layout to 18 holes. More recently, Martin Hawtree has overseen a retro-design, taking the course back to the original MacKenzie layout while allowing for modern equipment and new green-keeping standards. Cork is a subtle golf course with a par 72 and 6800 yardage. The course features fabulous bunkering and fairway shaping, long but narrow greens and is a perfect example of how to provide plenty of challenging without having to extend your course to 7400 yards!
