Now that we’re all learning to live with Covid and life and travel is opening up again, holidaymakers are looking to book a well-earned break. Travel restrictions to most countries are reasonable and no longer onerous. Long-time favourites like Portugal and France are proving popular and, further afield, the Caribbean and Mauritius appeal. Longer holidays are being booked to make the cost of the more expensive flights (and sometimes hotels and green-fees) be more effective over a longer period of time. I’ve also noticed a move towards hotels that are slightly smaller and less crowded but golfers are a sensible bunch and I think we learn to take most things in our stride.
I’ve travelled to Spain, Portugal and France in recent months and it’s all been pretty smooth. I’ve made sure I have my passport, boarding pass, vaccination certificate and PCR test together as they were often asked for at the same time. More and more countries no longer require a PCR test so that cuts down on the paperwork and cost.
Once abroad, the hotels like to see the paperwork when you Check-In and that’s it. You’ll notice that hygiene and cleaning standards have been raised all along your holiday journey. I find it reassuring that we’re taking a more responsible approach to travel and that we can no longer travel wherever we want, whatever illnesses we may be carrying.
So you’re on holiday, enjoying the scenery, the fresh air and being looked after…There’s very little that’s better for your health and well-being.
