Yet again, Medoc Golf & Spa Resort has featured heavily during the recent hotels season coming 7th as Best Golf Resort in Europe and the only resort in Europe with two European Top 100 golf courses.

Located near the heart of the Medoc vineyards. Medoc Golf & Spa Resort has 79 bedrooms of which my favourite are the “Superior” featuring terrace overlooking the 18th fairway of Medoc Les Chateaux. The food is good and, of course, there’s a wine bar and lunchtime brasserie at the adjacent clubhouse.
For golf, Les Chateaux is hosting the French Ladies Open this year and has also hosted the European Tour and Challenge Tour. Although side by side, the two courses are very different with Les Chateaux providing a heathland and parkland challenge with huge greens and plenty of long and low bunkers and Les Vignes a less challenging affair winding through a pine forest.
For apres-golf, you’ve got the brilliant city of Bordeaux 30 minutes away to the south-east, the world-class vineyards of Medoc (many of which are open for lunches and dinners) on your doorstep and the Atlantic beaches of Lacanau 40 minutes to the west.
It all makes for a very French golf holiday, laden with unique attractions.
Vive la France!
