Marrakech – a seriously good golfing destination

Marrakech – a seriously good golfing destination

Sunshine, easy access, great hospitality and beautiful golf courses…At mouth-watering value

I’m not knocking Turkey and neither would I dream of saying that the Costa del Sol and Algarve aren’t great destinations but they need to look around their pinnacles and really take notice of the new kid in town…Marrakech.

Marrakech is just as good for nightlife as Vilamoura and the Costa del Sol and it offers a huge variety of accommodations – from family-run Ryads to world-class establishments like La Mamounia, Fairmont Royal Palm and Four Seasons – , it’s a four-hour flight from London, transfers are well-organised and cheap and the golf is as good as all but the very best than Spain and Portugal can offer and at the same level as the myriad of courses along the Belek coast.

However, Marrakech also has several advantages over its more-celebrated rivals:
(1) higher temperatures, less rain and more sunshine throughout the year
(2) qualified Caddies cost £16 plus tip
(3) eating is a superb fusion of European, Arabic and African
(4) the prices are designed to please with green fees at the best courses £70, dinner and drinks for £30 or less and good hotels from less than £100 per room per night.  Our prices start at £499 per person for seven nights’ bed and breakfast in a five-star hotel, a welcome dinner, six rounds of golf and airport and golf transfers (excluding flights and based on 8 people in the party)

The best golf courses are Samanah, Ourika, Assoufid, Noria, Royal Palm, Al Maaden and Amelkis are close behind and the holiday courses are Palmaraie, Royal, Tony Jacklin and Montgomerie.  Clubhouses are mostly vast and luxurious and service is slick.

And of course Marrakech has culture galore and the views of the Atlas Mountains are inspirational.  So wake up to your choices and look at Marrakech for your next sunshine holiday.
