In the heart of the region’s largest nature park, Golf de la Foret d’Orient is probably the toughest golf course in the region and very easy on the eye too. There’s plenty of wildlife on the water hazards but you shouldn’t send a ball to a watery grave as the hazards are more visual than real. However, there are plenty of bunkers and the greens are quite subtle. Just 10 miles from Troyes, the 6900 yards La Foret d’Orient Golf Club is popular with locals but is quiet midweek. We get good dinner, bed and golf deals at the on-site three-star hotel if there are eight or more in your party or if you’re staying for five nights or more.
