A much-respected 36 hole golf club with two fine parkland courses in a sublime lakeside location. Killeen is the main course, having hosted the Irish Open four times. The course opens up relatively softly by the lake and then heads into the parkland where the fairways are quite wide but liberally dosed with bunkers and river inlets.
The second course is Mahony’s Point and is slightly shorter at 6780 yards off the back and is generally less challenging except for its well-protected greens and fabulous 17th and 18th lakeside holes.
With excellent clubhouse and the lake as a backdrop, Killarney makes for a terrific day out. You can even go fishing!
