Laid out by James Braid and Charles MacKenzie, Fulford has hosted more than 20 European Tour events and each hole is named after a golfing great. The 17th is famous thanks to Langer’s tree shot in 1981 (Langer had played with my father in the Pro-Am the same week). Trees aside, Fulford has some wonderfully challenging holes, particularly the par fours. Easy walking and with classic bunkering. A gem.
