Belle Dune is a gem of a course and those who have played it don’t understand why it’s not higher in the Europe rankings. Golf politics perhaps? Whatever the reason, Belle Dune is beautiful, boasts tight-knit fairways in a glorious mixed setting of dunes, pines and huge skies. Belle Dune is a perfect example of “less is more” – very little shaping, subtle greenkeeping and a small and welcoming clubhouse all go to make Belle Dune well worth the 40-minute drive from Le Touquet and 30 minutes from Montreuil-sur-Mer. The course has a canny knack of letting you score well if you don’t take chances and to really punish you if you’re greedy.
