If you want all the physical trappings of a chateau hotel but prefer a family-run feel to the service, then Chateau de Rochecotte is for you. Dating from the 18th-century and with a glorious history, it’s a beautiful place with the 50 acres of gardens, including massive wisteria and a 2000-year-old Lebanon cedar and the buildings are just as inspiring.
Inside, the dining room makes any dinner a special event and the cuisine is of a very high standard. There are three bar lounges – restored and named Napoleon III, Talleyrand and Dino to reflect three important figures in the chateau’s past.
There are 37 bedrooms; ranging from generous to enormous and all presented with grace.
