Golf de l’Ailette is possibly the best designed course in the Champagne region and it’s got several lovely holes with a couple of crackers on the back nine. With most of the course cut through woodland, l’Ailette provides a relaxing game, and it’s flat too with the exception of the four open holes around the turn.
Measuring 6800 off the back tees these days and with a par of 71, it can prove to be a beast if you want to play it off the tips but it’s far more reasonable off the yellows. After all, you are all on holiday! Sitting opposite Centre Parcs de l’Ailette at which we can offer a variety of self-catering cottages at terrific rates and located at the start of the Tourist Route of Champagne, l’Ailette Golf Club can be both your base or an enjoyable day out if you’re staying closer to Reims.
Now under the management and green-keeping capabilities of Blue Green and ex Euro Pro Tour Player David Trumea as well as taking on five more greenstaff, we’re looking forward to the course and layout reaching its potential. Another encouraging development is the renovation of the once good then erratic l’Ailette Hotel. Now family-owned and under “The Originals” brand, the hotel overlooks the lake and the golf course beyond it
