Vaucouleurs La Riviere & Les Vallons Golf Club PARKLAND & LINKS

Course overview

Forty minutes west of Versailles and deep into the farming countryside of Yvelines, Vaucouleurs La Riviere is a very enjoyable parkland course and Les Vallons plays like an inland links.  I  probably prefer Les Vallons as it’s a fine contrast to the other courses in the region and a great layout to tune-up your game as it’s not too long but the greens are small and the rough can be tough.   La Riviere is the prettier of the two and has several excellent holes and also allows you to “grip it and rip it” on a few holes.

Always in excellent condition and terrific value, Vaucouleurs provides a good day’s golf, not least for the excellent food in the converted farmhouse. Great views and a great way to keep the quality up and the cost down. Just beyond Vaucouleurs is Golf Parc so this is a surprising strong area for golf given the lack of population and the beautiful dominance of farm land over houses.
